People tell me that I often see what others don’t see.
Case-in-point, the picture above.
The top portion is a Christmas decoration that I saw at Lowes. It is supposed to be an arch that is a Christmas ornament. HOWEVER, when I saw it I naturally thought it would make a great Stargate (from the movie and TV series of that name)!
Put some shiny blue paper in the Center and voila it would look like the picture under it which IS the Stargate!!!
I mean, who wouldn’t think that, right?
Well, perhaps there are others who don’t see it that way.
I don’t see the world the same way you do.
And you don’t see it that same way other people do either.
Your vantage point, your perspective, and your point of view determine what you see, how you interpret it, what it brings to mind and what connections you make due to it.
You have unique experiences, lessons and judgements that have created the filters through which you view the world. It isn’t right or wrong, it is just different.
The filters shift and change as your life shifts and changes, creating new filters, some of which are stronger and let less in and some of which lessen and allow more to get through. Again, not right or wrong, just different.
The value of that comes when I am working with you. I allow myself to release as many filters as possible so I can view the world from as many perspectives as possible and with as little judgment as possible. I have to see the world through your eyes, through your filters, then we can navigate through those filters and make the necessary adjustments to release them if need be.
