Lessons I Learned From My Mom’s Passing

Last time I shared that my mother passed away on February 21, 2022.

Today I am sharing a few things that I have learned about creating memories, preserving those memories, appreciating the people in your life, and enjoying life.

Last time I urged you to “Love the Ones You’re With” by telling your loved ones how much you appreciate them now, don’t wait until the end, do it now.

In December I suggested that you “Give The Gift Of Memories For The Holidays” rather than material gifts, give people experiences with you.

And now, after going through lots and lots (hundreds) of pictures as I put together a slideshow for my mother’s Celebration of Life, I ask that you make sure that you record your happy times with those that you love.

How? Ensure that you take photos or videos of people, especially the ones sharing the experience with you, as well as the locations. Yes, I have been guilty of only taking pictures of only the locations I visited rather than the people I was sharing it with! And my parents did that too, so Mom isn’t in a lot of their photos.

PLUS, make sure you are in some of those pictures with everyone. And I and my parents were guilty of that last one too since we were always taking those photos!

Then once you take those photos, make sure others can see and enjoy them too. Download them from your camera or phone and make a photo book or sharing site or photo album and even give them to your loved ones! I have done a lot of photo books and albums over the years and given them to others. I think it’s a great way to share your memories.

So, those are a few suggestions that I have to make the most of the time you share with those you love. I hope you enjoy your times together!

See you next time.
