How Much Cat Help Can You Handle?

Have you ever noticed how pets LOVE to “help” you with activities? Reading, sorting paperwork, stacking things, making the bed and so much more!!

Our cats are SO good at it. I do, however, remind them that there is a difference between helping and actually being helpful.

I have five cats, so I KNOW how helpful they can be.

One day our one cat, Amber, was following me around the house seeing what she could get into. I was not being interesting enough for her until I entered the bathroom.

Now, when one of us is using the bathroom, the cats attempt to open the door, sit on our laps, pull things out of the trash, you know, HELPFUL things like that since we obviously cannot perform bathroom functions alone.

This day, however, I was not performing a standard bathroom task, I was going to use the Neti Pot on my sinuses.

Now for those who don’t know, a Neti pot involves pouring water into one nostril and letting it drain out the other nostril. Loads of fun!!

I began pouring water into the one nostril. Amber sat on the floor watching me. I wasn’t overly concerned since she likes to watch us brush our teeth too.

However, suddenly, she jumped up on the counter next to me. To my horror she began playing with the water as it was draining from my nostril by swinging her paw through the stream.

Now, since I had a nose full of water, the laughter that I tried to stifle didn’t go well. I did however manage to NOT drown or choke or spray water all over the bathroom!

Apparently, my reaction annoyed Amber and she left.

So, I ask again, how much cat help can you actually handle?

Beware curious cats!!
