I’ve Got The Purple In Me

Thoughts on Thursday

I always loved purple as a child.

People started calling me Purple Dawn and it stuck. Now it’s my company name.

And yet, what is PURPLE?

Purple is associated with wealth, royalty, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery, independence, and magic.

Purple is associated with spirituality, the sacred, higher self, passion, third eye, fulfillment, and vitality. sacred, creates feelings of spirituality, increasing nurturing tendencies and sensitivity, and encouraging imagination and creativity.

Light purple or lavender represents beauty and femininity.

Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red.

The color purple is a rare occurring color in nature and as a result is often seen as having sacred meaning. Lavender, orchid, lilac, and violet flowers are considered delicate and precious.

I looked it up, Too little purple brings out feelings of powerlessness, negativity, and apathy.

So OBVIOUSLY you need more purple!!!

My husband doesn’t always believe that purple things are obviously better!! However, when I first started dating him, he WAS frequently wearing purple (and still does) AND he had a purple computer. I told him those were both big pluses for him!

So, now that you have heard some of my musing on purple, I’d like to ask you, do you know about the Purple Cow? The phrase “purple cow” refers to something remarkable, amazing, unique, stand-out, eye-catching, or unusual.

I leave you with The Purple Cow poem from Gelett Burgess:

The Purple Cow

By Gelett Burgess

I never saw a purple cow.

I never hope to see one.

But I can tell you, anyhow,

I’d rather see than be one.
