I was making an apple pie today and my husband was baking some squash. As I gathered the peelings, rind, and seeds together to throw them out, I was wishing that we had enough property to have a compost pile so the seeds could have the chance to grow. Compost piles can create the most amazing plants.
Do you know what a compost pile is?
A compost pile is where you place organic waste like fruit and vegetable peels, seeds, etc and allow them to decompose.
Now the interesting thing about a compost pile is that all sorts of things can grow out of it from the seeds that were thrown there and from other seeds left by birds, squirrels and other wildlife who might stop by to investigate.
It can be quite a garden of varied plants, each one a surprise because you never know what may take root!
Life can be the same way. You have various circumstances, adventures, and ideas that seed themselves into your experience and start growing. They may take on different characteristics than the original “seed” had and show up in a greatly changed way.
The “seeds” may combine to create something that you never expected.
The seeds may create wonders or confusions, joys or sorrows, fascinations or frustrations; you just never really know what will take root and grow. And just like the compost pile, you continue to add to it and get new combinations and surprises.
What’s the point of it all?
It’s life.
The point of life is ultimately what you make of it. It’s how you play the hand you’re dealt. It’s taking whatever shows up and continuing to move forward!

You just never know what amazing things may sprout from those hidden seeds!
