Mediocre – Never Be Too Much

Do you make sure that you are never TOO much?

Never too happy, never too unhappy, never too rich, never too poor …. Just barely enough … just mediocre.

How mediocre are you making yourself so you can fit in with everyone around you?

Are you making sure that you force yourself into the mold or the box that everyone else lives in? Or force yourself to stay in the box that everyone expects you to fit into since you have always fit into that box before?

Are you afraid that if you stick your head up, someone will chop it off? So instead you always stay low, stay small, stay hidden.

When you settle into mediocrity you try to be normal and “just like everyone else.” You believe that if somehow you can do what other people do the way other people do it you will fit in.

Does that really work for you? Is that all that you want from life, mediocrity?

Reality Is Dedicated to Mediocrity

Reality is dedicated to mediocrity. Everything has to remain the same. That is pretty much reality in a nutshell.

Don’t deviate too much on one side or the other, stay mediocre and unremarkable, don’t desire to rise or you might fail. Play it safe. Don’t deviate from the norm, don’t deviate from mediocrity.

Mediocrity is what most people are striving to be. Look at our world right now with the preponderance of reality TV, everybody’s trying to be as mediocre as they can.

Standing out from the crowd is something most people are trying not to do. In fact about the only way people want to stand out from the crowd is having more money than everybody else but that’s still making the crowd the source for what they create.

Deviation Is Possible

It is possible to deviate from mediocrity.

Some people deviate from mediocrity to a degree that they have a whole bunch of money. Others deviate and are willing to have more than what most people are willing to have.

Perhaps you have allowed yourself to deviate from mediocrity. How did it go? So often when you do allow yourself that deviation, you judge yourself as wrong for desiring more than what others have or different than what they have.

So instead you make yourself stay mediocre by self-sabotage. You take something that’s wonderful and great and you screw it up, to try to not be as much as you are, to make yourself as mediocre as possible.
