Christmas Tradition from the Moon

This year, I would like to share with you the podcast that I did concerning the Christmas Eve that I and my sister received a telescope for Christmas.

It has now become the About Space Today holiday tradition.

The story concerns a very special Christmas Eve. It was the year that Apollo 8 broadcast a special message as they orbited the moon.

Here is the link to my podcast containing their message as well. Listen here to My Christmas Telescope.

That evening has stayed with me ever since that night as the little girl, Dawn, looked up at the moon knowing there were people orbiting it that night. It pushed me on into the space program to work on the space shuttle and so much more.

I would like to leave you with their closing and a little more:

“And from the crew of Apollo 8, we close with good night, good luck, a merry Christmas, and God bless all of you, all of you on the good Earth.”

And from me here on Florida’s Space Coast, I wish you a merry Christmas and God bless all of you on the good Earth.
