Out-Creating Yourself

Do you judge yourself based on other people’s lives?

I have done that. I have thought that other people have more money or better jobs or are thinner or look younger or have made more of their business or training or dozens of other things.

So when I came across this quote from the Dalai Lama it struck a nerve. “The goal is not to be better than the other man, but your previous self.”

Absolutely that is true. Then later Gary Douglas of Access Consciousness said that the only person you can compare yourself to is you.

The goal is to outdo yourself every day. To improve upon who you were yesterday or even who you were this morning!

Some might say that removes all incentive to improve. Well yes, you can treat it that way OR you can view it as you are your own competition.  And treat your own improvement as a challenge to yourself!

Keep asking who and what you can be today to out-create your “yesterday self”?

What will it take?

What do you have to do?

Who do you have to be?

What do you have to create?

What possibilities do you have here that you have never considered?

What choices can you make?

Or, to sum it up ask, “What CAN I create today that will allow me to out-create my “yesterday self”?

Challenge accepted?

Go For It!!
