A Valued Life
I recently watched “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish”. My biggest takeaway was about valuing who and what you have in your life.
The Big Bad Wolf was after Puss in Boots and said: “You know, I’m not really a cat person. I find the very idea of NINE lives absurd. And you didn’t value ANY of them. So why don’t I do us both a favor, and take this last one now?”
And Puss didn’t value his life until he was down to his last one, then he was just filled with fear about losing it. He no longer was willing to LIVE, only to stay safe, no matter how miserable that existence was.
Then he found a quest that had the possibility of restoring his 9 lives again and set out on it with a few friends.
And, of course, learned a lot about himself and his friends along the way.
Do you value your life? Do you value the people with you? Do you enjoy your life?
Or are you just trying to hide and play it safe and make it safely to the end?
Do you live with reckless abandon and no value of what you have, the way Puss did? Or do you value and savor the moments and the experiences?
Puss’s friend Perrito was trying to comfort Puss about having only one life left and told him, “You know, I’ve only ever had one life, but sharing it with you and Kitty made it really special. Maybe… one life… is enough.”
So whether you believe in reincarnation or not, allowing your life to be special and the people in it to be special can make all the difference.
Value your life and those in it.
As Puss said, “I know I can never defeat you, Lobo. But I will never stop fighting for this life.”
