Oh To Be Like Everyone Else, Really?

I have been watching quite a bit of television and movies during my recuperation.

It’s been quite disappointing.

I didn’t realize how often people said things like “I just want to be normal like everyone else!” and how hard they work to do just that.

Even in Science Fiction shows (which is often what I try to watch), the people with extraordinary capabilities just want to be normal.

Now, I do get that. Their capabilities can frequently cause them difficulties, but I don’t believe that telling everyone that being just like everyone else will make your life better.

Does being “normal” really give you a better life? Does it fix everything?

Does having a normal, predictable life ensure that you will always be happy? That everyone will like you?

I bet not.

Staying the same, being just like everyone else, hiding in predictability; do those really make you happy? Do they create the life you’d like to have?

Does wanting to be like everyone else serve you, others the world or consciousness?

Someone told me that I purposefully try to be different. Do I? I had not even considered that.

So I have been asking myself if being purposefully different creates what I want too.

All sorts of options exist. So I keep asking questions.

I invite you to keep asking questions also.

What will create what you desire?

The possibilities are endless.
