Grateful For The Experience

Today I randomly opened my book Launchpad 2020: The Art And [Rocket] Science Of Breakthroughs And Possibilities and read this line:

What experiences in your life are you grateful for?

I realized that I have been going over those for the past couple of years with my parents. When Mom and I would visit Dad in the nursing facility and as I continue to visit him now that Mom has passed, we would talk about the places they used to take my sister and me when we were kids and how much it meant to us.

They would always manage to take us to places we all enjoyed like national parks and caves, museums and planetariums, historic places, and amusement sites. All kinds of places near and far so we could all experience them together.

Those are still great memories for us.

My father remarked that some of the staff members that he talks to have never gone anywhere and he just doesn’t understand why they don’t take even small trips.

So let me ask you, do you take the time to create enjoyable experiences for yourself and those you love?

Would you like to?

What holds you back?

I get it that sometimes you believe that you have no money for it or no time, and yet you could just go someplace that’s inexpensive or free and wander around. You’d be amazed at what a change of pace like that can contribute to your life!

My husband and I enjoy going to wildlife preserves and gardens and the beach, just to walk in the peacefulness. It’s so relaxing for us.

And this fall, we plan to go out west to a few national parks and do a little hiking. Nothing that requires climbing gear, mind you, just easy hikes.

So, make a list of places you can go and things you’d like to do, and get out there and create some enjoyable experiences for yourself and your loved ones!

And enjoy life!
