Just Tell Me What You Want
Are you in search of you? Do you believe you have lost you?
Chinese philosopher Lao Tzu said, “At the center of your being you have the answer. You know who you are and you know what you want.”
Where are you looking for you? Chances are that you are not looking for you in the right place. If you’re on an endless search, you are probably looking to others rather than within yourself.
Some people find “going within” to be a daunting concept.
Let me assure you that you do not have to spend years alone in a cave or days meditating in silence to get in touch with you.
You can start with some simple exercises like just sitting down and asking “What would I truly like my life to be like?”
Then imagining yourself living that life.
Write it down if you’d like.
Write down what you would truly like. Keep a list. Keep the list with you. Keep adding to that list.
Avoid judging what you write on the list.
Avoid judging you.
Ah yes, avoid, OK actually STOP, judging you.
Yes, stop judging that what you would like to have and be is wrong or isn’t good enough or is too good or whatever is popping into your head when you ask yourself what you would like to have and be.
How are you doing now?
Next week we will talk more about judgment.
And in the meantime, keep asking yourself what you truly desire to have.
You know! Just ask.
