Other People’s Realities

Under water

I attended a business speaking event last week. In one of the sessions I was sitting next to a friend and I let out a sigh. She commented what a big sigh that was and I thought, yes, what’s up with that? Then during the program I did it again and she looked over at me. So I started noticing it more over the next few days.

Finally what came to me was that I was doing it when I was coming up for air! I realized that what I was doing was encasing myself in other people’s versions of reality … in this case, their versions of business. I was letting it envelop me rather than just taking from it what would work for me and letting the rest of it go. So I was often getting the feeling that I was drowning in their reality and needed air.

Do you do that? Are you creating a reality that works for you or are you living other people’s realities? Are you forcing your life to match their reality so you can fit in, so you can try to make their reality work for you? Is any of that yours?

Everywhere you are encasing and incarcerating yourself in someone else’s reality rather than creating your own reality that works for you, will you destroy and uncreate it all and return it to sender with consciousness attached?
